This is the largest aquarium on the Adriatic Coast, and it is located in a historic building that was built in 1932 as a seaside summer camp. The building was renovated in 1999 by the Municipality of Cattolica, and it is protected by the Body for the Environmental and Architectural Heritage of Ravenna, as it is so unique.
Here you can admire nature in all its beauty, shapes and colours by following 4 themed trails that are completely covered. Each trail is an experience that will lead you on the discovery of 400 species with over 100 exhibition tanks among the sounds of sea creatures, and you will find out about river and sweet water species as well, and come “face to face” with the sharks in a totally safe “dive”.
The visit to the aquarium in Cattolica is an educational experience and it generates awareness about respecting and caring for aquatic environments and their inhabitants. The experience is suitable for adults and children alike.
